New Year’s Eve Colorado Style

It’s strange to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a different locale this year.

I’m used to the chinese firecrackers, illegal aerial fireworks and smoke-filled streets of the Hawaii neighborhoods. Families gather in droves and parking through neighborhoods is challenging.

Kids light firecrackers on the streets, then toward midnight bamboo poles with strings of firecrackers ring in the New Year!

Neighborhood houses take their turn watching each house light their string of firecrackers. Each house usually ignites several strands around midnight. Then when all is done, the brooms come out to sweep the red paper blowing in the wind.

Instead – New Year’s Eve in Colo Spgs will probably be very subdued. We went to Walmart and there were barely any fireworks for sale except those party poppers.

Regardless, change is good and I pray the New Year to be prosperous and full of joy.

Cheers to:
Purposeful projects that are God-ordained
Saying “no”
Being stress-free and relaxed
