Hermie & Friends: Skeeter and the Mystery of the Lost Mosquito Treasure
My seven year old son gave “Skeeter and the Mystery of the Lost Mosquito Treasure” five stars out of five.
The DVD contained bonus features such as “The Sound of Hermie” with an insider’s look at how sound is added to the production of the series.
It was the “Trivia Quiz” section that kept my son engaged. This section can help children review the contents of the story and practice test-taking skills when answering multiple-choice questions.
The main story, “Skeeter and the Mystery of the Lost Mosquito Treasure” featured Skeeter, a mosquito who is unhappy with how he looks because of his crooked stinger.
His famous brother, who he thought as perfect, visits the garden and brings a mystery that needs to be solved. Skeeter learns that his perfect brother is also dissatisfied with his own faults.
My son’s comments about the DVD are as follows:
“All people have different stuff that can help them discover stuff. A note is in one treasure chest and then one that is full of something you both like. And singing is important to make movies, go to church and sing. Don’t be afraid to sing when there’s people around.”
God has made us special in ways that can benefit others. I agree. He noticed that we can celebrate our differences, despite areas we find lacking. We don’t lack when we work together.
