Adventures In Art Human Figure

p31200051

My seven year old son started art lessons recently.

He was a little nervous because he had never taken any formal lessons outside of school. It was going to give his sketches and scribbles shape.

The class consisted of about eight children ages five to thirteen and they focused on the human figure.

The teacher first shared her love of certain paintings, emphasizing action and movement.

They started with proportions and drew lines and circles of the various body parts on a figure that stood still.

My son enjoyed it a lot and learned to handle charcoal.

I was rather impressed with how much fun my son had in his first lesson.
